The tablet was great, the docking station was a nightmare. After replacing it four times, I knew I needed a change. Tablets with push button locking mechanisms always break eventually, then you’re stuck buying another dock. You can keep it going awhile longer by following their suggestions. Just always attach it on a flat surface while pushing the button down hard. Sure, the whole point of a laptop is to always have it on a flat surface, right You also have to clean it almost constantly to prevent this issue. Despite this issue, most Ultrabooks still use this arcane method.insteadThis is where the Ultrabook truly crushes the competition. The magnetic clasp system is a game changer Slip the tablet in, and that’s it. The keyboard button are raised more, making it far easier to type. The video link on Amazon does not do justice to how perfect this sexy little machine is.The main complaints I’ve heard are about the weight, the bluetooth keyboard battery life, and the ports. To these reviewers, I can only suggest they quit smoking crack. It’s the only explanation for these comments (unless they work for competitors which wouldn’t surprise me). I’ve added a thick leather cover that in itself is pretty heavy because it’s designed to cover the keyboard, tablet, and work as a stand when used as just a tablet. I have a pelvic pain condition, and it hurts a lot less to use this than both my Samsung T500 and even my Chromebook. As for the Bluetooth keyboard, I have no idea what the problem is. I surf constantly, as well as write stories, blog and reviews. I’ve never had the battery die. It does shut down to save battery. To turn it on, slide left to off, then to on, but hold the on button a few seconds. Your keyboard will turn right back on. You can also charge it at night via Micro USB.The last complaint is the one that took the most research. Attaching USB devices to the micro USB ports for charging and transferring seemed impossible at first. Their are a ton of cables out there that purport to allow you to transfer or charge your USB devices. I bought more than I can count, and not a single one of them worked. They all stated they would transfer, but not charge. These cables do not work. The only way to not only transfer, but also charge is to get a 3.0 USB hub for Ultrabooks. Trust me, I wasted a small fortune even on Asus cables and not one of them worked. They’ll ask you to download software assuring it will work (and it does if the goal is to take your money), but it won’t.I highly recommend getting a cover. My only complaint about the T300 is the surface seems to scratch easily. I’ve included the links for the cover and Hub I purchased, but there are other options. CNet has an excellent article with the pros and cons of the best 3.0 USB hubs. The same is true with the cover. Whatever cover you get, just make sure you confirm you’re not buying a TF300 or TF300T model for your cover. The T300 is the best of the best without question. After over a decade working in IT I’ve seen the good, the bad, the ugly, as well as the take a bat to it and make the world a better place PC’s. This has everything you could dream of for a tablet or laptop. Skip the rest, and go for the bestIf you purchase this, you will notice a recommendation to also purchase the EEKit for T300. For the love of god, do not buy this, or any other EEKit product. I’ve bought several kits like this over the years, and it has two redeeming items. The cloth, and the bag. The rest of it is useless garbage. EEKit is clearly a company created to unload items that will soon become obsolete. All the accessories are poorly made cheap garbage. You can get a better Stylus for $2. If you want a quality one for drawing, I’ve included the link for that as well.Beyond the accessories listed below, I have one final tip. Make sure any and all phones, tablets, laptops and e-readers have tech armor or some other form of screen protector, as well as a shell, cover or skin. Invest in the second warranty if it’s available (check reviews from other sites to make sure it’s a good one though), and one that includes spills is especially worth it. Protect your tech. Benjamin Franklin put it best when he said ‘penny rich, pound foolish’. Saving $20 today isn’t worth having to replace it a year later.Hope this helps.Combination Leather Keyboard Portfolio Stand Case Cover T300CHIhttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WT62KUQ?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpageUgreen 20293 4 Ports Super Speed USB 3.0 HUBhttp://www.amazon.com/20291-Compact-Microsoft-Surface-Ultrabooks/dp/B00OQ0CYFE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1449294223&sr=8-1&keywords=ugreen+usb+3.0+hubBoxWave EverTouch Capacitive Asus Stylushttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000WBIN88?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpageRead more 53 people found this helpful Helpful Comment Report abuseMJM3.0 out of 5 starsExcels as both a laptop and tablet, but beware the BSoDSeptember 21, 2015Verified PurchaseI’ve been on a quest to find the perfect notebook/tablet combo. I tried the Microsoft Surface, but didn’t like the fact that it had just enough differences from a normal netbook to make operating it feel awkward (no standby mode–really, Microsoft?). After some more research, I bought this netbook, and I fell in love instantly. Incredibly fast, solid construction on both the body and keyboard, gorgeous screen resolution, and perfect operation in both tablet and notebook configuration.HOWEVER. As soon as I got this computer, I upgraded it to Windows 10 (can’t stand 8). I don’t know whether this has any bearings on the problems that followed, but I suspect it shares some of the blame. After a month and a half of normal operation (web browsing, word processing, no shady websites or weird programs that might have messed things up) this netbook crashed while I was bringing it out of standby mode. It had blue-screened a couple times before, usually when I switched the keyboard on and off rapidly, and I had attributed it to an error with the Bluetooth. Restarting had always fixed the problem, but this time was different. It gave a blue-screen error about a missing device and listed keys to press to troubleshoot the problem. However, the Bluetooth and touch screen functionality had both shut off, and the USB port didn’t seem to recognize a USB keyboard, so the only option was to turn off the computer. Restarting brought me immediately back to the same error screen. The only action that had any effect on the computer was pressing the Windows key, which would change the blue-screen error message to one about a missing out damaged kernel.I’ve had a few Asus machines die on me before–they can’t be beat for their performance/price ratio, but they aren’t the most stable things. Normally what I’d do in this case is pop open the computer, pull out the hard drive, stick it into an external recovery device, and transfer my data to a new machine. This time was different, because a) the machine was still under warranty, and b) there was no way to physically access the SSD that I could see.I’d heard stories about how awful Asus support was, but since I’ve always done my own troubleshooting and repairs, I’ve never had to deal with them before. Unfortunately, in this case, I didn’t have any other options. I went through multiple calls with multiple technicians who told me that Asus doesn’t do data recovery under ANY circumstances. They said I or a third-party technician would have to pull out the SSD and get the data ourselves. The first two technicians did not seem to understand, even after I gave them the model number and described the form factor of the netbook to them, that the case had NO screws and NO obvious way to open it to access the drive. I brought it to a computer technician, who was just as baffled, and wound up cracking the screen in an attempt to find a way to pry it open. The third Asus tech I spoke to finally believed me when I explained there was literally no way to open it without voiding my warranty, and told me to find someone who could bypass the corrupted kernel and pull my data off without physically accessing the drive. I’d already tried to do that, but, well, good luck trying to find someone who’ll do data recovery on a SSD for under $300. I asked if there was any way I could get Asus to recover my data, but apparently there wasn’t.’Luckily,’ since this computer failed after only a month and a half of operation, I’m not going to lose that much data. Still, this has been incredibly inconvenient. When I get my computer back from the Asus repair techs, I’m going to leave Windows 8 on it to see if this is a fault with the computer or the OS.Read more 52 people found this helpful Helpful Comment Report abuseBlake Vignaud5.0 out of 5 starsPerformance. Check. Lightweight 2-in-1. Check. Under $400. How? This is amazing.September 19, 2016Verified PurchaseI have never been so impressed by a $400 computer. This is my first 2-in-1 because I have been reluctant to do so, fearing a lack of computing power and performance. This is actually able to run Smite without any lagging on the lowest settings. Perhaps more, I have not tried yet. Anyways, I am coming from an ASUS G51JX gaming laptop which is at least 3 times the weight, noisy as hell, and was unreliable until I re-pasted the GPU and CPU. This has been running overtime and never overheats, even without a fan. That is one of the best things about this laptop, there are no moving parts! That makes it really ideal for taking out and about.Pros:Incredible performance from this new style CPUBattery has been lasting me about 8 or 9 hours of constant internet useLighter than a Macbook AirCons:I really cannot think of anyRead more 4 people found this helpful Helpful Comment Report abuseSee all 161 reviewsWrite a customer review Customers who bought this item also boughtPage 1 of 1 Start overPage 1 of 1 This shopping feature will continue to load items.
